Technology Specialist Endorsement for Illinois Teachers

CTER students who meet certain conditions may be eligible to apply for the Technology Specialist Endorsement after graduation.

Here are the requirements:

  • Must have an Illinois Teaching Certificate
  • Must have taken 5 requirements and 3 electives from the CTER program.
  • Did not transfer or petition a course from another program towards the degree.
  • Must have completed the six hours of required middle grade courses if seeking endorsement for grades 5-8.
  • Technology Specialist content test required for an endorsement at any level. (The test may be taken at any time, but it is recommended that you take it before you apply for the endorsement.)
  • Transcript of all the courses taken through the CTER program.
  • A letter or a statement on the form, which explicitly states that you are applying for a Technology Specialist Endorsement granted through a special arrangement between the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and ISBE.

 

Upon graduation the coordinator will submit the names of graduates to ISBE by request. Graduates of the CTER program are responsible for submitting applications, taking exams, and payment of fees to their Regional Office of Education.
