* CTER Application Procedures
To complete the CTER application follow these steps:
- Complete the Graduate Application Online (in Planned Course of Study, select : "10KS0210EDMU - Educational Psychology (Online)--EDM").
- Note: Please DO NOT submit the Program Specific Questions 1 & 2. These questions are for Ph.D students only.
- Where the application asks for your personal statement, write a 1-2 page essay that talks about your interest in Educational Technologies and outlines how your admission to this online Master of Education program in CTER will support your educational and professional objectives.
- Pay application fee ($70 for domestic students, $90 for international).
- The on-line application asks you to enter three recommenders who have direct knowledge of your academic performance and potential for graduate study. You can mark them as either off-line or on-line recommenders. We prefer they be on-line. They will be sent an automatic email with instructions for submitting their recommendation. They do not need to provide additional hard copies of electronically submitted recommendation letters.
- If any recommender cannot provide a letter this way, ask him or her to send a letter via e-mail as a Word or PDF attachment. The e-mail should be directed to cteronline@illinois.edu.
- Required Complete the CTER Supplemental Form (DOCX or PDF): Fill this out, save it as a pdf, and upload it in the "department specific" area of the application.
- Send official transcripts for all undergraduate and graduate studies (if applicable) in which you received your degree(s). These transcripts must be issued by the institutions and sealed in original envelopes and sent to CTER directly from the issuing institutions. Have the transcripts sent to the address at the bottom of this page. You do not need to supply transcripts from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
- Support letter signed by your Principal or School Administrator indicating awareness and support of your participation (Summer 2011: Principal letter-pdf file). (Only required if you are working in K-12). Fill this out and print it.After it has been signed wherever required, scan it to a pdf and upload it in the "department specific" area of the application.
- Read the information about the Department of Educational Psychology.
- Finally, if your GPA is significantly lower than 3.0 (out of 4.0), a GRE (Graduate Record Examination) score is recommended but not required.
- CTER tuition scholarship opportunities might be available. If you are interested, please contact the project coordinator directly for additional information.
