Summer 2009 Admissions Deadline is April 17Summer 2009 admissions deadline has been extended to April 17, 2009. Dear Prospective Applicant,
We’d like to inform you that the deadline for summer admissions to the CTER Online Master of Education program has been extended to April 17, 2009.
CTER is an exciting graduate program which offers courses that will let you experience advanced learning technologies first-hand. You do not need a teaching certificate to join our program. Since CTER courses are project-based, you will have opportunities to develop projects based on your professional interests. Courses are held in Moodle, a popular course management system that allows you to interact effectively with course content, instructors, and fellow students. Most courses also have a real-time online chat session once a week using Elluminate (http://elluminate.com). We also use Mahara (http://mahara.org) for our ePortfolio system and student projects. New for 2009 is our Virtual Worlds for Education course, where we introduce various types of virtual worlds (such as Alice & Second Life) that can be directly applied to education.
There is no graduation exam or thesis requirement. Plus, the tuition rate is the same, whether you’re in-state or out-of-state (about $1900 per course).
If you’re just interested in taking a course or two before you apply, you can do that as a non-degree student (subject to instructor approval & availability). If you decide to apply at a later date, courses you take as a non-degree student may be applied towards your degree.
Students generally take two courses in the summer, and one in the spring and fall semesters to complete the program in two years. However, it is possible to take two courses in the spring and fall if you’d like to complete the program quickly or for financial aid reasons.
